NALSAR UNIVERSITY OF LAW

Accredited in 'A++' grade with a score of 3.52 on a four point scale by NAAC in Cycle 2

Syed Ashfaq Hussain

I have been teaching at NALSAR since 2015 and my earlier teaching experience include teaching at National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, my Alma mater, where I started my teaching career after completing my Bachelor and Master’s degree in Law from that esteemed university in 1991.

I have also taught for a couple of years at College of Law, Hannam University, South Korea; and Law School, University of Adelaide, Australia, where I will be submitting my doctoral thesis in International Law.  I may also mention that I was awarded fellowship by the Harvard Law School, USA, for graduate studies in law. Also, scholarship by The Hague Academy of International Law, Netherlands, for their prestigious course in International Law.

In addition to International law, I am deeply interested in the study of legal and moral philosophy, the genesis of which never ceases to fascinate me. The range of social, cultural and religious traditions that have profoundly influenced the subject is incredible, challenging the intellectual endeavour to understand and accommodate the innate quality of its diversity. I am also passionate about International human rights law and International humanitarian law, which I have been teaching for quite some time. I am also interested in the study of comparative religions.
