Undergraduate Study in Business

The five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at NALSAR is a unique program for young ignited minds aspiring to pursue a career path in Business Management. It is designed as a comprehensive management program for students after class XII. The students would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) by NALSAR after successful completion of five years of program. Located in a conducive learning environment, NALSAR provides the students with a conclusive and cogent understanding of various disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, law, and management. With the best-in-class faculty, the IPM program promises a constant dialogue with business leaders, thought leaders, civil-society actors and academicians for providing strong bedrock for the future leaders who demonstrate professional will and personal humility. The multidisciplinary characteristic of the IPM program will help the students in developing a multi-dimensional problem solving approach, an essential requirement in today’s complex business environment.

Consisting of fifteen terms spread across five years, the first 3 years of the program are aimed at providing strong theoretical underpinnings, conceptual and practical insights in the various areas of philosophy, psychology, fine-arts, mathematics, economics, law and management. The last 2 years are aimed at nurturing holistic transformation from students into future business leaders and managers.

NALSAR envisages the fulfilment of its IPM Program objectives only through a well-researched course design and a holistic pedagogical approach. The curriculum aspects of learning structure design, student engagement, continuous assessments and the integration with Industry is interwoven into a seamless program.

The IPM Program is designed in consonance with the Choice Based Credit Policy of the UGC and consists of core, ability enhancement (compulsory and skill enhancement) and elective (discipline specific and generic) courses. The students have an option to choose from ‘Discipline Specific’ and ‘Generic electives’ at BBA stage from among those provided in the course map. At the MBA Level, the students have a wide basket of electives to choose from and that include.

 a) Business Regulations, 

b) Corporate Governance, 

c) Court Management, 

d) Finance, 

e) Human Resources, 

f) Innovation and Sustainability, 

g) Marketing, 

h) Operations & Systems.

 The courses and electives are reviewed every year in an effort to keep the student learning relevant to the industry requirements.

NALSAR adopts a learner-centric approach in its pedagogy and the teaching approaches adopted by its faculty are in alignment with this overall approach. Curriculum delivery is through an active student engagement based teaching methodologies like case studies (IIM – Ahmedabad Case Collection, Harvard Business Review Cases, Emerald Case Studies) E-books from Pearson, Tata McGraw Hill and many more resources in NALSAR E-Library), role plays, live projects, group activities and student presentations apart from classroom lectures. The application and practical insights on the theoretical concepts taught in classroom are gained through curated interventions from Industry experts sharing their real time perspectives.
