India's Foreign Policy Challenge| Shivshanker Menon, IFS (Rtd)

Dr Shivshanker Menon is the former Foreign Secretary of India who also served as the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister from 2011-2014. His long career in public services spans across the field of diplomacy, atomic energy, disarmament policy, national security and India's international relationships.

His talk comes at a time when New Delhi has been making enthusiastic efforts to renegotiate the terms of India’s engagement with the world. Political commentators have argued that the 'Modi Doctrine' has been effective in strengthening India's image at the global platform and overcoming historical hesitations. However, on the other side New Delhi’s relationship with Islamabad lies in tatters, its rapport with Russia is under a cloud, and the bonhomie with Beijing has turned into distinct acrimony especially with the recent border standoff. The Facebook event for the same can be found here.
