Dr. N.Vasanthi has been working at NALSAR Law University for the past five years. At NALSAR she teaches labor law and has conducted a domestic violence clinic in the clinic course. She has experience of over nine years in teaching and advocacy. As part of the Criminal Justice project at NALSAR she coordinated 8 workshops on human rights education for persons with disabilities, covering several districts in the State of Andhra Pradesh. This initiative has also held a National Consultation on human rights for the disabled, and as an outcome of this proposes to undertake research plans with several partners in the area of disability rights.
She has been teaching gender in labour for five years in NALSAR and has presented a paper on this at the IAWS Conference in Goa in May 2005. She has also been a part of the Capacity Building for Women in
Higher Education, a programme
under the UGC. She is also on the Executive Committee of Asmita Resource Center for Women in Hyderabad and a member of the Disability Rights Network. She was awarded her doctoral degree
in law for her thesis titled “Study of Constitutional Policy Relating to Environment and the
Role of the Judiciary in India” in February 2005.
