Campus Regulations
NALSAR Campus is strictly No-Smoking Zone and consumption of Alcohol is strictly prohibited. The University strictly prohibits ragging, sexual harassment and any such conduct including moral turpitude and views these acts as serious issues for disciplinary proceedings which may lead to expulsion from the University and may also attract criminal prosecution. Violation of Code of Conduct invites suspension followed by inquiry and if established may lead to expulsion. Students are permitted to visit their homes or local guardians on the first and second week ends. Visit outside the Campus on week days is regulated.
Students of NALSAR are required to be sensitive to the community standards of the city and their surroundings in their behaviour, dressing and manners in keeping with the reputation and expectation of the University. Any personal problems or interpersonal issues can be brought to the notice of the concerned Class Teacher or Warden who will help in the best possible manner.
While the use of mobile phones by the students is permitted, Cellphones with cameras are strictly prohibited anywhere on Campus. Use of Cellphones in the Academic Block, Administrative Block, Library and Internet Centre is strictly prohibited.
- All students shall report back to the Campus latest by 7.00 p.m. to ensure their safety.
- All students shall go back to the respective Hostels by 9.00 p.m. and they shall not be allowed to be out of the Hostels after 9.00 p.m. However, during the period of End-Semester examinations, the Library shall be kept open till 11.00 p.m. and students can be allowed use of library up to 11.00 p.m.
- Library timings shall be from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m and during the period of End-Semester examinations from 9.00 a.m to 11.00 p.m.
- Procurement, possession, distribution and use of narcotic drugs or other contraband material including tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol in any form shall constitute a very serious mis-conduct for which mandatory punishment shall be expulsion from the Hostel and / or rustication / expulsion from NALSAR after enquiry and opportunity of hearing to the delinquent in addition to Criminal Prosecution under Narcotic Laws.
- All the students shall wear full dress outside the Hostels and they shall wear the prescribed uniform at official programmes.
- No student shall be served breakfast / lunch / dinner beyond the prescribed timings.
- No cooked food shall be brought from outside and taken in the Hostel Rooms under any circumstances. Such junk food is a big health hazard and incidence of sickness is on the rise.
- Checking of student bags shall be mandatory at the entry gate to ensure that no explosives, narcotic drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and other contraband are smuggled in.
- Private Vehicles shall not be allowed inside the Campus without a specific permission of the Vice-Chancellor / Registrar / Proctor / Chief-Warden and without proper inspection by Security.
DRESS CODE
Students should follow the prescribed University dress code during University functions, meeting with visitors to the University and public lectures.
