NALSAR STUDENT AWARDED YOUNG INDIA FELLOWSHIP

Abhishek Chopra, a final year student at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad has been selected for the prestigious 'Young India Fellowship Programme'. He was selected through a three-step process involving submission of an application dossier, followed by a telephonic interview and in-person interview held at Delhi.

The Young India Fellowship Programme is a highly prestigious, inclusive programme which selects a batch of 50 Fellows from all over the country. These future change agents of India will be endorsed and supported by internationally recognized leaders from different walks of life. This pool of Young India Fellows will also be recognized across different platforms in print, TV and online media which will ensure that the Young India Fellows themselves become a brand - quite like the Rhodes Scholars.

YIF is the only programme which had India's most well-known historian, Mr. Ramachandra Guha, an ex-Fortune 500 CEO, a Mathematics Guru, Chief Economist to the Government of India, Mr. Kaushik Basu, a successful Entrepreneur and a Princeton Ph.D. in Chemistry as teacher in the same semester. The average cost of the Programme per student is about INR 8 Lakhs and each student will have a Sponsorer Committed to the Programme.

If a Young India Fellow wants to apply for a Master's/Doctorate programme at the University of Pennsylvania, he will be considered favourably by the School, provided certain essential criteria prescribed by the School are met.

Abhishek after the completion of this Programme intends to litigate in Delhi and wants to pursue his higher studies in Criminal Law at University of Pennsylvania.

The entire NALSAR Family is proud of the achievement and hope for a bright future for him. Such an achievement by our student reflects and reinforces our commitment to achieving higher levels of excellence in legal education and research at NALSAR.
