The NALSAR Legal Aid Cell has been active in NALSAR since February 5, 2009, with students taking an active part in the process of dispensing legal aid to the community, through the wealth of knowledge accumulated in their term of study in NALSAR University of Law.

The Mandate of the Legal Aid Cell may be enumerated as:
  • Compilation and documentation of legal aid material available in the University.
  • Create a network of advocates/alumni willing to render help in case an indigent is directed to them.
  • Deep involvement in pro-bono and public policy oriented research and the development of partnerships with other organizations.
  • Mediation and conciliation of disputes between parties in the community.
  • Coordination with NGOs and Government officials to ensure development of the community and maintenance of basic necessities, such as Health, Sanitation, Water and Education.
  • Creation of awareness of legal rights and the manner of enforcement of these rights.
